The Airport Authority has three appointments that will expire on December 31, 2019. The Greene County Board of Commissioners encourages anyone qualified and interested in serving to submit an application for consideration. The term will begin on January 1, 2020 and is a two-year term expiring on December 31, 2022.
Currently, Greene County is fortunate to have an Airport Authority that is comprised of members with a wealth of aviation experience. The objective of the Airport Authority is to work closely with the County to acquire, maintain and improve the facilities and runway, and to set rates and fees for use of the airport facilities.
Through round-table discussions, Authority members focus on quality strategic growth initiatives to ensure the Greene County Airport exceeds the expectations of the fast-growing demand in our area, thus making Greene County a premier destination.
Board Meetings are held at the airport on the 3rd Thursday of every month beginning at 8:00 AM and are open to the public.
To be eligible to serve on a Board in Greene County you must reside in Greene County and maintain your residency during your term, you must not owe any delinquent taxes or fees to Greene County, you cannot serve on more than two appointed boards or authorities, and you must completely, properly and accurately complete a Candidate Questionnaire.
Applicants ideally would have some relevant background, involvement or education in the respective board, be competent and of sound mind, be truly interested in the welfare of Greene County and its residents, sensitive to the long-term, as well as, immediate impact of their decisions, and be willing to devote the time and energy necessary to fulfill their responsibilities.
