Coroner

The Coroner's Office investigates cases of homicide, suicide, accidental, undetermined and all natural deaths that are sudden, unexpected or medically unattended. 

Clerk of Superior Court

The Clerk of Superior Court is elected county-wide to administer the proper registration and retention of official documents. Included are civil and criminal proceedings, real estate and personal property transactions, and various other records. The Clerk of Superior Court also administers the jury system.

District Attorney

The District Attorney is an elected constitutional officer, who is part of the judicial branch of Georgia state government. The District Attorney represents the State of Georgia in the trial and appeal of criminal cases in the Superior Court and delinquency cases in the juvenile courts. The District Attorney has a full-time staff of assistant district attorneys, investigators, victim assistance and administrative personnel who assist the District Attorney in carrying out the duties of the office.

Magistrate Court

The mission of the Magistrate Court is to deliver justice to the citizens of Greene County by ruling on disputed claims or approving mutual settlements in civil cases as well as serving as the court of entry into the criminal justice system. 

Probate Court

The Supreme Court described the duties of the Probate Judge well in Comer v. Ross as "an official charged with the performance of duties judicial, ministerial, and clerical. Not by his or her title, but only by his acts, can the exact capacity in which the Judge appears ever be known upon any occasion." In Greene County, the Probate Judge presides not only over probate and traffic matters, but is also the Chief Magistrate Judge, and Vital Records Custodian.
