Access Limitations during COVID-19 Outbreak
Access to Greene County Offices Limited to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19
As of March 23, 2020, Greene County has received confirmation of the first Greene County resident that has tested positive for COVID-19. To maximize the goal to sustain continuity of operations for the local government to meet the needs of our community, the county offices falling under the Board of Commissioners will be closed to outside public entry effective immediately. Employees will still be working and available by phone or email. The following offices of the BOC are now closed to public access:
Building and Zoning
In addition, the Offices of the Tax Commissioner, Probate/Magistrate Court, and the Clerk of Superior Court have taken the same action as stated above with respect to their respective offices. The Board of Tax Assessors has also closed the Tax Assessors Office to public entry.
County services, including (and especially) public safety services will continue to the greatest extent possible. As circumstances in this fluid situation evolve, additional steps and impacts will certainly be expected.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and encourage social distancing, increased levels of personal hygiene, and other proactive steps recommended by the CDC.
