The designated appointee will serve a three-year term.
Board Position Opening
The position on the Planning and Zoning Board is an at-large position that serves as the Chairman of the Board and is a three-year term. The Planning and Zoning Board conducts public hearings on rezoning and variance requests. The Board does not make planning and zoning decisions, but serve to make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the month at 4pm in the County Commission Meeting Room of the County Administration Building.
Qualifications
To be eligible to serve on a Board in Greene County you must reside and maintain residency in Greene County, you must not owe any delinquent taxes or fees to Greene County, you cannot serve on more than two appointed boards or authorities, and you must completely, properly and accurately complete a Candidate Questionnaire. Applicants ideally would have some relevant background, involvement or education in the respective board, be competent and of sound mind, be truly interested in the welfare of Greene County and its residents, sensitive to the long-term, as well as, immediate impact of their decisions, and be willing to devote the time and energy necessary to fulfill their responsibilities.
