Jontavius Smith has requested a recount after a cured ballot was opened on November 5th by the Election Consolidation Assistants, scanned and tabulated officially breaking the tie for the 5th seat on the City Council of Greensboro and declaring incumbent Chris Moore the official winner.  

PUBLIC NOTICE OF A RECOUNT IN GREENSBORO MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2021

As allowed by Georgia Code, Mr. Jontavius Smith has requested that a recount take place due to the closeness of votes between himself and Chris Moore for the 5th Council seat position.

Therefore, on Wednesday, November 17th, The Greene County Board of Elections and Registration will conduct a machine recount of the November 2, 2021 Greensboro municipal election as per Georgia Code $21-2-495 (c).  The recount process will take place at the office of the Board of Elections and Registration, located at 1180 C. Weldon Smith Drive in Greensboro at 10:00 am.

The public is allowed to observe the process.
