Board Positions Open Multiple

Airport Advisory Committee

The Airport Advisory Committee meets at the airport on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 8:00 AM. The committee is tasked with providing input to the County Administration to help maintain and improve the facilities and runway and to provide assistance to the County Administration in establishing rates and fees for use of the airport facilities. The meetings are open to the public.  

Board of Elections and Registration

The Greene County Board of Elections and Registration is empowered (along with the Elections Supervisor) with the powers and duties of the election superintendent, as it relates to the Conduct of Primaries and elections, and with the powers and duties of the Board of Registrars as it relates to the registration of voters and absentee balloting procedures.  The Chair is responsible for managing the Board and provides effective leadership such that the BOER is guided to conduct effective business meetings in an orderly and civil manner.

Qualifications to Serve

To be eligible to serve on the Airport Advisory Committee you must reside in Greene County and maintain your residency during your term, you must not owe any delinquent taxes or fees to Greene County, you cannot serve on more than two appointed boards or authorities, and you must completely, properly and accurately complete a Candidate Questionnaire. In addition to the above qualifications, to serve on the BOER you must have lived in Greene County and have been a Greene County registered voter for at least 12 months prior to the recommendation for appointment and you must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Applicants ideally would have some relevant background, involvement or education in the respective board, be competent and of sound mind, be truly interested in the welfare of Greene County and its residents, sensitive to the long-term, as well as, immediate impact of their decisions, and be willing to devote the time and energy necessary to fulfill their responsibilities.

If you would like to be considered for one of these openings, complete a Candidate Questionnaire. Current appointees are eligible to continue serving and may be reappointed by the Board of Commissioners if reappointment is sought.
