The Greene County Board of Commissioners will consider appointments to the Greene County Board of Health during their May 2023 regular monthly meeting. Of the two positions currently under consideration, one position is a representative to serve as the Advocate Representing the Needy, and the other position is for a Licensed Nurse. Both of these positions serve six-year terms.
Meetings
The Greene County Department of Health meets quarterly at 10:00 AM at the Greene County Health Department on Apalachee Road. The next meeting is scheduled for July 11 at 10:00 AM.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to serve on the Board of Health you must reside in Greene County and maintain your residency during your term, you must not owe any delinquent taxes or fees to Greene County, you cannot serve on more than two appointed boards or authorities, and you must completely, properly and accurately complete a Candidate Questionnaire. In addition to the above qualifications, to serve as the Licensed Nurse you must hold a current license. Applicants ideally would have some relevant background, involvement or education in the respective board, be competent and of sound mind, be truly interested in the welfare of Greene County and its residents, sensitive to the long-term, as well as, immediate impact of their decisions, and be willing to devote the time and energy necessary to fulfill their responsibilities.
