COVID-19 Vaccination

Please check the Northeast Heath District website frequently as the situation is fluid and may change rapidly.

***The vaccination distribution is being handled by the Georgia Department of Public Health.  The information contained in this article comes from resources on the Georgia Department of Public Health’s website and the Northeast Heath District website.  The Greene County Board of Commissioner’s has no role in how many vaccines are received into the county, who receives them or which providers will be providing the vaccinations.  The information is being provided as a reference only.

Greene County is part of the Northeast Heath District which consists of the Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe and Walton County Health Departments.

Who is Currently Eligible?

On 12/31/2020 the governor’s office and the Georgia Department of Public Health modified Level 1A to include all first responders and those over 65.

How Do I Get Vaccinated for COVID-19?

The Northeast Health District is prioritizing COVID-19 vaccine appointments for those who live or work in the district.  If you do not live or work in the Northeast Health District, you are encouraged to contact your local health department or health district.

Pre-registration for non-healthcare workers and 65+ is open; however, there is currently NO TIMELINE for when appointments will be available for those in any priority group other than 1A (healthcare and 65+) will be available.

To request an appointment, complete the appropriate form.  The links for the forms for both non-healthcare workers and healthcare workers are provided below the article.  Appointments can also be made by calling 706-340-0996; however, they are receiving thousands of calls and hold times are VERY long. The best option is to complete the online form.  Anyone who is eligible and submits a registration form will be called within a few days to schedule an appointment.

All information on the form must be completed.  Each person will need to pre-register separately.

If you are completing the form prior to your priority group access, once they are ready to vaccinate your priority group, you will be contacted. Check your email and SPAM folders regularly.
