Amazon Impacting Economic Growth in Union Point

If you have seen all the Amazon tractor-trailers in Union Point at the old Universal Rundle Building on Industrial Boulevard in Union Point, don’t do a double take. They are for real. America’s Remanufacturing Company (ARC) from Augusta is a reverse logistics and remanufacturing company under contract with Amazon as a refurbishment center for multiple Amazon distribution centers and across several product categories. ARC has already hired 60 employees and is looking for 100 employees by the end of 2021. ARC-Augusta helps manufacturers, distributors, and retailers manage their return products through the 4R Process of recovery, remanufacture, resale and recycling.

2020 U. S. Census for Greene County Shows 18.3% Increase in Population

The tally is in and the Greene County, Georgia, population is recorded as 18,915 according to the U. S. Census Bureau.

Greene County Unemployment Rate Dips to Record Low
at 2.9 % in July 2021

Dropping to 2.9% in July 2021, the unemployment rate in GREENE COUNTY has dropped to its lowest rate ever based upon records available from the Federal Reserve Economic Research website at the St. Louis Federal Reserve.  Other recent low points in the Greene unemployment rate occurred in November 2019 (3.3%), October 2000 (3.2%) and April 1990 (3.7%).  Thanks to the resiliency of our business community, people have returned to work and the Greene County unemployment rate remains lower than the Georgia and the U.S. rates which are 3.2% and 5.7% respectively.  The Northeast Georgia Regional Development Center area continues a strong recovery with an unemployment rate of 2.8%.
