Personal Property Returns

Any person owning a business, boat, or aircraft as of January 1 of the current year must file a personal property return by April 1 of the same year. As mandated in O.C.G.A. 48-5-18, personal property returns must be received by the Assessor’s office no later than April 1 of each year. An official United States Postmark must accompany returns mailed on April 1. No metered mail will be accepted as timely unless it is physically received by the Assessor’s office on or before April 1.

Returns received after April 1 will be assessed a 10% penalty. For more information on personal property returns in Greene County, download the Personal Property Return document or contact the Tax Assessors office at 706-453-3355.
