Onsite Inspections in Your Neighborhood

Greene County Tax Appraisers

Throughout the year, you may notice Greene County Board of Assessors appraisal staff in your neighborhood or area conducting onsite field inspections. These inspections are being performed as a normal part of the property appraisal review process, follow-up of building permits or in response to an inquiry or appeal you might have made.  Greene County vehicles will be clearly marked with the Greene County Seal and staff will have picture ID’s and business cards.

In addition to this normal appraisal activity, Greene County has contracted with a qualified vendor, McCormick Solutions, a division of LMC, Inc., to perform a total county-wide revaluation project pertaining to all real property for the 2021 tax digest year. The project will include all commercial, industrial, residential and agricultural properties. The purpose of this revaluation project is to update and equalize all property values to ensure uniformity as required by Georgia Law. The last total county-wide revaluation project performed in Greene County was for the 2006 tax digest year, so it is very important for us to engage in this project at this time.

LMC Tax Appraisers

To accomplish these revaluations, appraisers from LMC, Inc. will also be inspecting properties throughout Greene County during the next few months.  They will be in vehicles clearly marked with an LMC, Inc. logo, will be wearing red safety vests and will have Greene County Contractor ID’s.  Appraisers will NOT need to go inside any residence or building.  We appreciate your cooperation with our necessary onsite visits and, as always, we want to respect your privacy.
