Schedule an appointment now for you or your spouse to receive a 1FREE Cardiovascular Screening. For the testing to be free, the participants must be covered under the employees Anthem Health Insurance Plan; however, if you do not have the County insurance, VHS will gladly check other insurance plans.
Tests are safe and painless. All tests are performed by a registered vascular tech and interpreted by a Board Certified Vascular Physician. Results are mailed directly back to you in 3 weeks. Results are completely CONFIDENTIAL. Find out if you are at risk. Don't wait for health complications to arise.

What Screenings are Completed
Stroke
A stroke is caused by an interruption of blood flow to the brain. Blocked or ruptured arteries cause the two major types of strokes. Stroke is the 3rd leading cause of death and the LEADING cause of serious disability in the US. Every 45 seconds someone in America has a stroke. The test involves an ultrasound of the neck arteries.
Aneurysm
An Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) is an abnormal dilation of the major artery in the abdomen. In the US, AAA is the 13th leading cause of death. For men, it is the 3rd leading cause of SUDDEN DEATH. This test involves an ultrasound of the abdominal aorta.
Peripheral Artery Disease
This test is only performed when age or medically warranted. Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) is arterial blockages at the upper and lower extremities. If you have PAD you are at risk for coronary artery disease (CAD). CAD is a blockage to the arteries supplying blood to the heart. CAD is America's #1 killer. This test involves a series of blood pressure measurements of the ankles and arms.

- If you do not have Greene County's Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance; bring your insurance card and/or a form of payment.
Can Someone without Anthem Medical Insurance through Greene County be Tested?
For employees and/or their spouses that DO NOT HAVE Anthem Insurance, tests are available at a discounted rate of $110. They accept cash, check, credit, debit and Health Savings Account (HSA) cards. They can check your health insurance plan before charging you to see if they will cover the testing. Bring your insurance card with you.
