Swimming Pool Permit Requirements
Items to be Submitted with Permit Package
- A site plan in accordance with the Greene County Code of Ordinances.
- An Erosion Control Plan in accordance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System and the Georgia Erosion and Sedimentation Control Act of 1975.
- Swimming Pool Plan designed to include the following:
- Profiles of the bottom of the pool as define in Section 807 of the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code.
- Clear diving zone in compliance with Section 804 of the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code.
- Swimming pool equipment specifications (ex. pool pumps).
- A barrier (fence) encompassing the pool in compliance with Section 305 of the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code.
- A powered safety cover that complies with ASTM F1346 may be used instead of a fence.
- Water hazard alarms on all windows and doors contained within the pool barrier as defined in Section 305.4 of the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code.
- All special features in accordance with Section 809 of the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code.
It is the homeowner’s responsibility to ensure that all barriers and alarms are in place. This normally falls outside of the scope of the pool contractor and is not included in their price.
Attention Homeowners and Subcontractors
NO CO's will be issued for pools that do not include compliant barriers and alarms.
