Stations

Fire Rescue operates out of five staffed stations strategically located throughout the county.

Each station houses an engine company that is staffed 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, with two certified firefighters assigned to each engine. Three of these stations are shared locations with Greene County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and are also staffed 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, with an advanced life support (ALS) ambulance. In addition to the staffed engines and ALS ambulances, each station also houses other Fire, EMS and Emergency Management Agency (EMA) resources.

In addition to the staffed Fire Rescue stations, the County also contracts with:

to provide additional fire protection services to unincorporated areas of the County through automatic aid agreements. The County reciprocates these agreements to provide staffed fire service coverage within each municipality.

There are also four private, non-profit fire departments operating in Greene County through contract with the County.

These eight fire departments, four City departments and four private departments, are 100% volunteer departments. Approximately 120 volunteers are affiliated with the eight volunteer departments.

All of the fire departments operating in Greene County have a proven history of working together to deliver high quality emergency services. These fire departments will respond anywhere necessary to provide service to Greene County citizens while also providing assistance to surrounding counties through reciprocal mutual aid agreements. Greene County is proud to support these dedicated professionals in their commitment to deliver critical emergency services.
